In deze kennismakingsvariant van Urban sketching gaan we binnen schetsen maken van het mooie Amsterdam. Deze workshop is speciaal gemaakt om je kennis te laten maken met Urban sketching als schetsmatige manier van kijken en tekenen.

De nadruk ligt op kijken, inschatten en vereenvoudigen: wat zie jij, wat valt jou persoonlijk op, en hoe kun je dat snel in een schets vastleggen. Deze workshop is geen technische tekenles. Het gaat niet om het nauwkeurig uitwerken op basis van meten of het technisch (re)construeren volgens regels, maar om observeren en het vertalen van wat je ziet naar een eenvoudige, persoonlijke schets.

We inspireren je met mooie beelden van Amsterdamse scènes waarin grachtenpanden, bootjes, mensen en het stadsleven centraal staan. Sketching doen we in zwart-wit en kleur, met potlood, kleurpotlood, fineliner en aquarel.

Hoe je begint met Urban sketching wordt duidelijk uitgelegd door een ervaren illustrator.

Een schetsboekje is niet inbegrepen. Papier en ander materiaal is aanwezig. Je kunt wel zelf een schetsboek meenemen (tip: stevig tekenpapier, minimaal 200 grams) of nog even wachten en een paar voorbeelden bekijken.

Deze workshop is in het Nederlands, met als extra taal Engels indien er Engelstalige deelnemers zijn.

Monopoly Amsterdam 750 jubileum versie

Monopoly Amsterdam met Amsterdam als getekende stad: 750 jaar jubileum uitgave, getekend door Station West Leuk om te noemen is dat Saskia Volkerijk, die de Urban sketching workshops bij Station West geeft, alle Amsterdamse plekken heeft getekend die op het bord en de doos staan. Station West ontwierp speciaal voor de jubileumuitgave ‘Monopoly Amsterdam 750’ een unieke eigen illustratiestijl voor deze eerste geïllustreerde Monopoly uitgave van een stad, in zwarte lijnen en een kleurensysteem, met ritmes in perspectief en detail, vogels vliegend over het bord en parken in plaats van stations. We offerden hierdoor wel op het spelbord de bekende plek 'Station West' op: dat werd 'Westerpark'...ook leuk! Verkrijgbaar om de hoek bij Schaak en Gowinkel Het Paard (en andere winkels)!

With Urban sketching, you draw the beautiful city of Amsterdam

In this introductory version of Urban sketching, we will be making sketches of beautiful Amsterdam indoors. This workshop is specifically designed to introduce you to Urban sketching as a sketchy way of looking and drawing.

The emphasis is on looking, assessing, and simplifying: what do you see, what catches your personal eye, and how can you quickly capture that in a sketch? This workshop is not a technical drawing lesson. It is not about precise detailing based on measurements or technically (re)constructing according to rules, but about observing and translating what you see into a simple, personal sketch..

We inspire you with beautiful, large projected images of Amsterdam scenes that focus on canal houses, boats, people and city life. We do sketching in black and white and color, with pencil, colored pencil, fineliner and watercolor.

How to start with Urban sketching is clearly explained by an experienced illustrator.

PS. This is an introductory workshop of Urban sketching. There is also an extensive Urban sketching workshop and incidently some specials. The extensive workshop includes three sessions and may take place outdoors if the weather is sufficiently warm and dry, otherwise indoors.

Monopoly Amsterdam 750 anniversary edition

Monopoly Amsterdam with Amsterdam as the drawn city: 750 year anniversary edition, drawn by Station West It's worth mentioning that Saskia Volkerijk, who teaches the Urban Sketching workshops at Station West, drew all the Amsterdam locations featured on the board and the box. Station West designed a unique illustration style specifically for the anniversary edition of "Monopoly Amsterdam 750," this first illustrated Monopoly city. It features black lines and a color system, rhythms in perspective and detail, birds flying across the board, and parks instead of stations. This did mean sacrificing the familiar location of "Station West" on the game board: it became "Westerpark"...also fun! Available around the corner at Schaak en Gowinkel Het Paard (and other stores)!
