Salsa-ritmes spelen op conga’s

Liefhebber van salsa? Dan weet je dat je automatisch gaat bewegen en dansen als je deze muziek hoort. De ritmes in salsa zijn vrolijk en aanstekelijk en niet alleen voor je voeten…ook voor je handen! Ervaar dat door zelf enkele salsa-patronen te leren spelen op conga’s. Zo kom je nog meer in het ritme van de salsa!

Wat leer je in deze workshop

Deze salsa conga-workshop bestaat uit 3 sessies waarin je op een vrije manier enkele salsa-ritmes leert spelen. Na een korte introductie over salsa en conga’s, leer je hoe je enkele bekende salsaritmes op conga’s speelt en maak je kennis met instrumenten als de clave en de koebel. Bij Station West leer je muziek op een manier die tot creativiteit leidt. Hierdoor speel je zelf of samen met anderen makkelijk nieuwe en verrassende ritmes. De workshop-host heeft veel ervaring in salsa- en latin jazz-formaties.

Deze workshop is bedoeld voor als je enige affiniteit met salsa hebt en nog geen of weinig ervaring op conga’s of soortgelijke percussie-instrumenten.

Deuren open: 10 minuten vooraf.

Deze workshop is in het Nederlands, met als extra taal Engels indien er Engelstalige deelnemers zijn.

Playing salsa rhythms on congas

A lover of salsa? Then you know that you will automatically move and dance when you hear this music. The rhythms in salsa are cheerful and infectious and not only for your feet... also for your hands! Experience this by learning to play some salsa patterns on congas yourself. This way you get even more into the rhythm of salsa!

What will you learn in this workshop

This salsa conga workshop consists of 3 sessions in which you learn to play some salsa rhythms in a free way. After a brief introduction to salsa and congas, you will learn how to play some well-known salsa rhythms on congas and be introduced to instruments such as the clave and the cowbell. At Station West you learn music in a way that leads to creativity. This allows you to easily play new and surprising rhythms yourself or together with others. The workshop host has a lot of experience in salsa and Latin jazz formations.

This workshop is intended for people who have some affinity with salsa and little or no experience with congas or similar percussion instruments.
